The Parley of Instruments, founded in 1979, takes its name from some of the earliest public concerts in the world, given in London in 1676.  Its house style is consistent and well thought-out, using a combination of experimentation with historical techniques and experience.  It created the first Renaissance violin consort in modern times and, with light internal construction, plain gut strings and short bows, its violins produce a more blended, viol-like sound than the more familiar Baroque models.

‘Playing of such high standard, imbued with such musicality … long may they reign’
